A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Caribbean

I have seen all kinds of different diet recommendations but these two seem like the most often recommended. Anyone have experience with either or both?

A myPCOSteam Member

Best results I’ve ever had for helping the symptoms of this syndrome is a gluten, dairy, soy, corn, egg, and peanut free diet. Helped me (and everyone I’ve recommended it to who tried it for at least… read more

Why Is The Doctor Percribing Me Spironolactone?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Hawthorne, CA

So the doctor had done a ultrasound on me on my first appointment seeing him and informed me that "it looks like my uterus lining is thick" so he prescribed me with 200mg progesterone for 10 days to thin out the lining and have my menstrual regulated. He mentioned that it should regulate my period which i havent had since age 22 and i am 33 right now. Hi! I would first like to comment that it's odd he took what you said during your virtual meeting as a positive sign. If you took 200mg of progesterone for 10 days, you should have bled 1-3 days… read more

How Do You Start Changing?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Red Deer, AB

I feel like I’ve fallen so far into the PCOS hole that I don’t know how to scratch my way out of it, doctors don’t want to talk to me about it until I lose weight which feels next to impossible. I’ve tried Metformin, It makes me so sick even after 2 months on it and I can’t use birth control Because it’s not safe medically for me so I feel like I’ve just been written off and don’t know where to start and some days I just feel so hopeless and like I’m just stuck like this. I also have doctors… read more

I can understand your frustration. A lot of my symptoms were overlooked because I was overweight at 7-8 years old. I was finally diagnosed at 16 and put on metformin, unfortunately even after years… read more

Mirena And PCOS. Bleeding Suddenly

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Australia

Hello,

so this is my first time with mirena and i was given it to help ease my PCOS/adenomyosis/fibroid symptoms. I'd have spotting sometimes but it would normally go away that day.

But i'm at like, the 10 month mark, and this week i've had a very light bleed on and off for about 7 days with some mild cramps (either normal mild or based on what i used to get) and i'm wondering if that's normal?

My "cycle" before this was like 2 months non stop then like 6 months off. no real consistency… read more

Does Anyone Else Get Annoyed When They See Famous Woman Or Other Announces That She's Pregnant?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Warrington, UK

I hate it when I see that this female celebrity or that female celebrity is pregnant as it annoys the hell out of me as I'm like thinking "can't u keep ur pregnancy news to urself?" or "just share it with with your family and friends" as its not nice for ladies who are struggling to get pregnant due to medical conditions they have like us ladies on here as we have PCOS and we (well I for one) don't want to know about them becoming pregnant because u never or very rarely find out if a female… read more

Has Anyone Ever Had A Period That Seems To Be "stuck" Inside You?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Warrington, UK

Its the second time as far as I can remember that it's happened to me as both times when my periods have started I've swapped my sensitive bladder pads for my period pads like I always do and every time I've gone to the toilet there's nothing on the pad, but there's blood on the tissue and it makes me think that my periods have somehow gotten "stuck" inside me. It's the only way I can think of to explain it.

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Palmer, AK

I just got diagnosed with PCOS. We have been TTC for over 3 years now. My doctor wants to put me on letrozole and metformin together to try and induce ovulation. Was wondering if anybody had any success stories, tips, bad side affects. Any help would be greatly appreciated!!
