When Should I Be Concerned?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Indianapolis, IN

So, I have been more regular at least most of the time for over a year now, although it seems like every once in a while I see my PCOS still throw things more out of whack. Even still, I usually don't go more than 6wks between periods. (That day will be this coming Monday, 7/24)

I had been checking cervical mucus & stuff like that. Apparently had the fertile stuff but didn't actually ovulate? But I had a legit LH spike like 3 or 4 days before my regular 4wk cycle would've hit... And now I'm… read more

I was diagnosed with PCOS about a month ago. What were your first steps for dieting? Also, so many of you go to a nutritionist or have you mainly done the research on your own?

I’m very insecure in my own body. I have PCOS belly and extra fat I can’t get rid of from my hormone imbalances. I eat healthy, work out consistently with no aid. I’m thinking this is my last resort to try and feel better in my own skin

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Phoenix, AZ

Hello all, I’m Yesenia and I’m new to the group. I was diagnosed with PCOS back in November 2022 and was told I was going to have a difficult time getting pregnant. Well, I recently found out that I am pregnant. Im currently 6 weeks. Can anyone tell me about their experience of having PCOS and being pregnant? I have read many articles stating that I will be at high risk for a miscarriage as well as gestational diabetes due to my PCOS. When I brought it up to my midwife she didn’t think it was a… read more

Toledo, OH

Does anyone have sudden pressure or jolts of pain in their ovaries? It doesn't happen every five minutes. But, it also affects my lower back as well.

A myPCOSteam Member

Not all the time, but I've had days kinda like that... Wish I understood more, but everything you find googling only applies so much when you have to take the PCOS into account

Help Please

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Australia

I was diagnosed with polycystic ovaries in my 20’s while trying to conceive. Now in my late 40’s. Been off the pill for the past year. Last internal showed no cysts one year ango) and about to go for another. They say once you have PCOS it never goes away. I’m losing hair and given all my tests come up normal I’m not sure if it is PCOS or some other reason. Not pre menopausal either. The doctor says if no cysts then I don’t need to worry about going back on the pill or include metformin, but… read more

Trying To Make A Decision -any Advise?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Australia

So I had been on the pill for a decade and noticed my hair was thinning. With PCOS I was always too scared to get off the pill, but then starting thinking the pill was causing my hair to fall out so I decided to take a break as well as my ferritin (iron storage was low). One year on my hair has fallen out much worse! I started taking iron tablets, now on fish oil and vista in d and hair supplements. But given it’s gotten worse I went back to doctor to get my hormone levels checked now that my… read more
