Does Soy Or Phytoestrogens Affect The Hormones?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Toronto, CA

I wonder if the hormone mimicking of phytoestrogens found in soy causes excess facial growth in women and pcos especially premonopausal women? Would love to hear people's thoughts as I'm kind of struggling with this.

A myPCOSteam Member

I’ve noticed worsening symptoms when consuming soy. But those symptoms are more aligned with IBS and muscle pain. I’ve never had facial hair issues but I do believe excess soy can further constitute… read more

Has Anyone Experienced Hair Loss

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Australia

I noticed my hair has been thinning for the last few years but still manageable. Then I decided to stop the contraceptive pill because I’m 49 and thought my body should go through natural progression into menopause. Since stopping the pill I have lost a lot of hair and fear I will lose it all. I am thinking of going back on the Diane 35 contraceptive pill. I take iron, vitamin d, fish oil and hair and nail supplements

IUD Induced PCOS?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Santa Rosa, CA

I have had the Mirena IUD in place for about 7yrs. Before placement I never experienced ovarian cysts. About 2 yrs ago I was diagnosed with PCOS as all imaging tests within several years revealed an excessive amount of cysts on both ovaries along with other symptoms consistent with PCOS. I feel like it may not actually be true PCOS and the cysts are actually caused by the IUD itself. I am considering getting it removed to see how my body responds without it. Has anyone else experienced this or… read more

Does Anyone Know Any Energy Supplements Or Powders?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Riverview, MI

I am constantly tired and drink way too much coffee every day. I know that it affects my physical health, but I need to find something to help me stay awake and let me get through the day without having to nap.

A myPCOSteam Member

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Pine Plains, NY

I've been having cravings lately and decided to get a pregmate test since you can get a few for the price of one. I took a test at 5am after the 3rd time of having to go an 6min later its positive. Should I test again? The package says 5minutes no later on results.

How Can I Be A Nurse Living With PCOS

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Riverview, MI

As a nursing student who has done clinical so far, I notice how it already takes a toll on my body. My family thinks I will be okay and get stronger by me eating healthy and working out. I understand what they are saying, but if I constantly go to the gym, my body feels exhausted, and I sleep almost all day if I can. Plus, I drink way too much coffee than the recommended amount, which I know does not help, but it's the only thing that keeps me awake. Unfortunately, it caused a cyst on my left… read more

Anyone Have A Random Period After Not Having One For A Long Time?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Charlotte, NC

It's been two years since I've had a period. I'm not on any kind of birth control and haven't been in the past 5 years. Today I woke up with pelvic pain and passed a big blood clot. I've been eating more recently because I've been recovering from an eating disorder and also have IBS. But due to the IBS I've lost about 10 lbs within the last two months. So I'm not sure if the weight loss or the eating more has brought it back. Or if it's just a one off hormonal shift. My doctor told me not having… read more
