Who Takes Inositol?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question ๐Ÿ’ญ

I've been reading about inositol, and the benefits for women with PCOS or severe Anxiety. I'm wondering who takes inositol and how it has worked or not worked for you. I'm also wondering if you did or didn't talk to your doctors about it first?

Members expressed strong curiosity about inositol for PCOS and anxiety, with many eager to try it after reading promising research comparing it to Metformin. Several members shared encouraging early results, including more regular menstrual cycles, reduced insulin resistance, fewer carb and sugar cravings, improved energy, less muscle pain, and better management of anxiety symptoms like heart palpitations and intrusive worry. A recurring theme was the willingness to experiment through trial and error when doctors had limited knowledge about the supplement, with members recommending specific brands like Ovasital and Intimate Rose that combine myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol in a researched 40:1 ratio.

I take it and magnesium and whilst when I first started to take it I couldn't really notice if it effectex me or not, when I did stop taking it for two weeks when I went on holiday I certainly noticed the difference, I was shaking, my heart felt like it was coming out of my chest, emotional, and waking up at all hours in the night worrying about anything and everything. I'm having a very stressful year, so I have a lot to worry about, but I find taking these certainly help me cope and focus, I really don't want to go down the route of pharmaceutical help!

I might start taking it and see if it helps... I'm finding a lot of PCOS success stories that basically start with women who are willing to do a bunch of trial and error

I've been taking it and I believe it's helped my insulin resistance. It has taken away my intense carb and sugar cravings! Only 2 months so far so hoping I see more results.

Hi there!

I emailed my Dr and he said it couldn't hurt. So I bought some and I'm on day 2. Well, I thought it was too soon to make a difference but I started spotting today! That gives me a 32 day cycle which is way close to regular!

I, like you, was very curious and wondering if it's just a gimmick... but the proof is in the pudding (or underwear, be that as it may).
