No Period For Extended Time

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Has anyone else had no period for an extended period of time? I was extremely irregular for the two years before my diagnosis. Didn't have it for almost a year. Had it once randomly. Now it's been almost 1.5 years since I've had a period.
It scares me because I don't understand if I am even ovulating or if I will be able to get pregnant. They say weightloss can spur menstration but I've lost 29 lbs in the last 5 weeks and still nothing. It really bothers me!

Hi! I'm new here. I went on the pill for that reason. I went 6 months without a period. However, I'm hearing good things about Inositol- it's helped a lot of women as per the reviews from Amazon. 🙃

You need to have some sort of frequency in your periods because you have a higher risk of developing endometric cancer. There are some pills that can induce your period and it is good to use it every three or four months. As long as you have 5 or 6 periods a year you'll be fine. You should see your gyn for more info

I didn't have periods for a year before getting IUD! So it might have a contribution but I'm not sure!
