Lysine
I was researching Lysine for my housemate (cold sores) and came across a bunch of anecdotal evidence about how it works miracles for acne, especially cystic acne, and also that there is some scientific evidence that it also helps with blood sugar. Made me realise why the recommended PCOS diet may be so effective - it's high in a lot of lysine rich foods. I can't find any specific literature about a link between lysine and pcos though. Has anyone tried it? Is it worth taking as a supplement?

It isn't until you realise I get suicidally depressed when I'm not taking it in a very short space of time. So...kidney stones or complete inability to function? It's not an easy choice :(
I'd stop taking it. That kind of side effect isn't worth it!
@A myPCOSteam Member I get terrible side effects from the spironolactone, including the dry eyes. But actually the worst one for me is the kidney stones. I'm really unlucky in being one of the few people that gets them as a side effect.
I'll be interested to hear how you get on! I don't want antibiotics in my body any more so avoid them as far as possible. Do you get side effects from the spironolactone as I used to get everything drying out i.e. my eyes and anything else that can dry out, and it made my bladder overactive - not incontinent but needing to go all the time. Drove me mad!
