Any One Have Success With Electrolysis?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Ive been told electrolysis is the only way to remove permnetley unwanted body hair, esp on the face, as laser is not long term and for people with pcos ive seem to see alot of failed laser stories, but ive seen alot of positive on electrolysis , anyone have advice?

Electrolysis is a better option than laser because it removes the hair from the root where as the laser is only removing from the surface. If the electrolysis is done correctly it should work. It is a process but will definitely be worth it in the end.

I am in the process of doing laser hair removal now and it has helped a lot. I still have a few but it has definitely improved. I'm only on my 3rd session and they recommend 6. She did tell me b/c of my PCOS I will have to do it all over again down the road but honestly it has been worth it to me. Chin hair is the most embarrassing thing! =/

I am the Past Director of Education for Society of Clinical & Medical Hair Removal. An International Organization of Certified Electrologist and Laser Specialists. I owned and trained electrologist for years. I have 31 years of experience in helping PCOS clients. It is a long road of learning. In over the thirty years what I have learned is we can always try to 'keep up' with our clients hormonal imbalances. Laser, in my opinion has been a god send. I see my clients once a month for a maintenance treatment. I have a low set price for my PCOS clients because I know they will never stop developing new hair ( due to their hormonal imbalance) and I am there to keep ahead of it. For PCOS clients that had to shave daily now may do a touch up once a month. They can go weeks (5) with no growth on their face. If you have any further questions you can contact me at (Email address can only be seen by the question and answer creators) I am in Halifax, Nova Scotia.

I had laser treatment in 2007 on my face (including sideburns and mustache and neck area), under arms, that area below the belly button, and Brazilian. The only area that doesn't grow back at all is my sideburns. My mustache and underarm hairs are barely there. For the pain and money, it wasn't worth it for me bc I still shave everywhere and wax the rest of my face. The hair isnt as thick though except on my jawline and neck area its still very coarse. @A myPCOSteam Member
