Sex Drive And PCOS

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Joplin, MO

I'm 53 years old and have always had a high sex drive, when I was 48 I had Uterine ablation done instead of hysterectomy (never had children due to pcos) and since my 50's my sex drive is extremely higher and frustrating. It sometimes is all I can think about and its like I can never have enough, this is also hard because my boyfriend has a low sex drive and I find I get more aggressive in wanting and needing sex. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Spironolactone lowered my testosterone, relieved multiple symptoms of the high testosterone, and I started ovulating with regular cycles again. It took about 6 months for all of this to really settle down but it worked, and it is the only prescription I took.

Do you have high testosterone levels? Maybe talking to your dr about how you can lower it or balance it if you do. My guess is maybe the surgery you had had a hand in your hormone levels?? Good luck!
