I am on Metformin 500mg 2x daily, my doctor said the reason for putting me on this was because PCOS has caused me to develop a skin condition called hidradenitis suppurativa. I have been on this for about 2 months now and I really haven't seen a difference. Metformin can help PCOS women with high blood sugar, but it's not about skin... Spironolactone is usually prescribed as a help for acne/skin/hair growth.

My doctor suggested I look into Metformin as well. She said its a diabetes medicine given to help PCOS patients bodies better regulate/use blood sugar, that could result in weight loss and ovulation (I def. imagine it does more thought - at least from what I've seen from different sites).
If you don't mind me asking - are you having any side effects? This is one of the three meds my doc suggested for me.

Try cutting out dairy in your diet. I have not had dairy in the past week and my skin has cleared up majorly
