Just Curious As To What Type Of “diets” Anyone Is Trying And If It’s Working?
My doctor had me go on a protein sparing modified fast and I felt like I was starving 24/7. I do not eat dairy and I try to stay low carb and watch my fat intake as well. I also don’t eat gluten. I feel like I’ve tried so many things and nothings working.
I also started the keto diet about a month ago. And I too got the keto flu. In the beginning I felt fine and I was sure that I was not going to get the keto flu but unfortunately I did. Lol but now I feel a lot better and I've lost 20 lbs so far in a little over two months. I've been seeing a trainer twice a week and he tried to convince me for awhile to do Keto. But I convinced myself that I was going to get fat consuming fat. Lol but I educated myself on how the diet actually works. Well I hate to say diet but I mean lifestyle change. And so far it has done wonders.
I tried the Keto diet and after getting over the "Keto flu" I felt great. I had so much more energy. The only problem was I found it a little hard to keep up with (0 will power). Especially since my husband didn't want to do it with me. My mom doesn't have PCOS but she has hypothyroidism and has been doing Keto on and off for the last 2 years and has lost and kept off 70lbs.
I've just started an Insulin Resistance Diet. Tara Spencer has great books and meal plans. I got mine on Amazon.
Wow that leaves your options really limited! Why did they have you do protein sparing? Have they done a metabolic panel? Are you insulin resistant?
I'm insulin resistant and I take metformin and eat a moderate carb diet and watch my sugars. I use myfitnesspal to track my calories and have lost about 20 lbs so far.
I am starting the keto diet. Ive been told it is fantasic for us PCOS sufferers.
