Metformin probably wont help you much then.
This was a great resource for me in the beginning - she focuses a lot on what you can do to improve your chances of conceiving. https://www.smartfertilitychoices.com/free-30-d...
My blood glucose and a1c levels are good and im not pre diabetic. She didnt mention anything about having a glucose resistance either. Could i still take metformin?
Hi! Welcome! I think that the "types" of PCOS are still kind of undefined - some places refer to them as classic and non-classic, some type 1, 2, others have different names even.
I would definitely contact your doctor in regards to the heavy bleeding on placebo week and see what alternatives they can offer. In my personal experience, the pill only masked my symptoms and did not improve my overall reproductive health. I went the route of metformin after finding out my blood glucose and A1C levels were borderline prediabetic. And spirnolactone to treat my increased testosterone that was causing acne and chin hair growth. I've lost 30 lbs and my symptoms are finally improving - my period is regular 28 day cycle for the first time in a long time, acne cleared, and mood improved. Many women with PCOS get pregnant so have faith, patience, and determination and you will get there!
