Weight Management / Diets
Hi everyone. I’m new to the group but I’m happy that I found it. I was diagnosed with PCOS back in 2017. Since being diagnosed I have struggled tremendously with my weight gain, and getting it OFF ! Does anyone have any suggestions on what diets have worked for you alongside with regular exercise? Or what foods to stay away from ?
Thanks !
Google is very helpful with what foods to eat and not to eat, foods like processed food, sugar, dairy, alcohol doesn't help, having active lifestyle obviously helps
People with PCOS should stay away from diary and gluten. Its hard for me bc i love cheese. I want to try a plant based diet, but i have heard good things about keto for pcos. PCOS needs low carbs, low sugar and high protein. You can get protein from beans, and lentils and veggies, so you dont always have to incorporate meat in the meal. I'm not against meat but I think the meat quality in our food industry is probably not the safest to eat. Walking is a good way to exercise. Its not good to do heavy cardio workouts for women with PCOS. PCOS does cause a low inflammation and stressing your body with heavy workouts may affect that. I'm not 100% sure, but I have read that before. But not everything we read is true, ya know. Strength training is also good.
