Which Type Of PCOS ?
Hi ! I was diagnosed a few years ago with PCOS. I have taken a treatment for 2 years (Androcur), but I had to stop it, and the pill too, and my symptoms are coming back more than before.
So now, I would like to try more natural treatments, and particularly to have a change in my lifestyle. But I need to know which type of PCOS I have. Any advice ? I would be glad to read your experience.
I know there are 4 types of PCOS
1) Insulin resistance (a blood test ? I am not overweight and I have… read more
It wasnt too hard for me but journaling food does help. I usually get a new pimple after eating something spicy (I know they say it takes time for it to form) but in my case it would not have been as bad if I dont eat certain foods. So I can get a tiny pimple or a massive one, if that makes sense. Lately I eat too much bread so I should probably not buy any bread next week. I've heard a mixture of things about meat. For myself, if I dont eat 1 ounce of meat in a day I get sooo hungry. Like I then binge on unhealthy food. So I would advise meat is still important in the pcos diet. I love Spearmint tea...calms symptoms right down. I was going to get an infection in my mouth the other day (drinks spearmint tea) no infection at all! It really is a cure all!
I will say there is a huge debate about going dairy free, but it has personally helped me soooo much. Reducing my dairy and meat consumption chills out almost all of my symptoms. nowadays the animals that provide these products are usually given hormones which in turn inflame PCOS symptoms. Taking a daily iron and B12 supplement has been a lifesaver as well. Best of luck!
A blood test can show if your blood glucose levels are in the correct range. An H1bac test checks for 3 months. Insulin resistance is found by a glucose tolerance test. Readings are taking over a set time after taking some meds. Not sure if done at the GP. Probab!y at diabetic or endocrine clinic. You can get inflammatory marker bloods done but not sure if this is for pcos or not. Can get down for people experiencing pain. I have no idea about checking for adrenal issues. I would like to know this too. I have no idea what type I have as diagnosed years ago. I do know it's not the one that relates to the pill.
I've had a bad breakout from all the sugar christmas junk I've eaten. I've been drinking lots of spearmint tea and after a few days my skin is sooo much better
Thank you again for your answers to all of you !
Eating meat or not, dairy, gluten...it seems it is very personal and each body reacts differently...we need to found what is the best for us.
I haven't heard about spearmint tea before, but I love this, so I will try, thanks !
