Who Else Has PCOS D With No Insulin Resistance?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I was diagnosed with PCOS type A in Jan 2024 but after redoing labs in May, I have no insulin issues. I never have in the past either and I've had labs done consistently over the last couple of years. I have cysts in my ovary (I only have one). We have been trying to get pregnant for 2 years. We got pregnant once (Oct 23) but it was an ectopic. Other than tha5, no pregnancies. I am trying to find out what people with this type are doing. There's limited information available online for treatment… read more

Super helpful!

My hormones came back normal but I would guess that they aren't normal throughout the month. I am all over the place emotionally and my cycles have gradually gone from normal to not normal in the last year or so.

We have been TTC for two years. I live in a pretty small town and have had crap doctors since I got diagnosed. I'm working on finding a doctor in the city. I recently started the paleo and I'm loving it. Super simple and it cuts out most of my intolerances. I have a few more that I added.

The only symptoms I really have according to labs are the actual cysts in my ovary. I'm hoping to get some more definitive tests and answers when I switch to a different doctor. I will ask about the DUTCH test!

I believe I am the same type? I am normal weight, no insulin issues, but issues with irregular cycle, elevated testosterone and low progesterone (blood tests were within normal range but I finally saw a doctor who did a more thorough urine test! Called: DUTCH test)-highly recommend as it’s very informative much more than blood test results. Now I’m on a progesterone cream every night (it’s only been about a week or so but seems to be helping symptoms a little) also, I HIGHLY recommend an allergen free diet…eliminating gluten, dairy, soy, corn, eggs, and peanuts was absolutely life changing for me, my pcos, and irregular cycles..I actually accidentally became pregnant when I first started it years ago…so if you’re TTC I would also highly recommend!)

Me too! My biggest symptom is honestly the cysts on my ovaries and then I deal with a lot of GI issues (I think some related to pcos some not?) so my doctor I also did the Genova GI test in addition to the DUTCH test and the combination of both tests has given me more information than anything else so far since our type of PCOS can be very tricky to treat! Wishing you the best and I’m happy to answer any other questions if you need!!
I love the doctor I found…she’s in Leesburg, VA. But she also does virtual appointments I think?
Here’s her website in case it could help for you to check her out:
