Different Types Of PCOS

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I have been off my birth control for 9 months now and I would still go months without a period. After months of no period I would have one light for a month or two. In most cases I've read about people don't have them at all. i have never hear of anyone having longer periods. Is there anyone else like this? Also, have you found that other women in your family struggled with PCOS.

Cold Like Symptoms Before Period?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Burlington, VT

Does anyone else get cold like symptoms before their period comes? I noticed this the first cycle I had since being on metformin, and I'm wondering if that means this is about to happen again...
Its like a stuffy nose, headache, head cold. I feel sick (not nauseous, but like i'm coming down with something), and sooo tired. This happened right before I got my first period on metformin (for like a week). I'm hoping this isn't going to happen every time...

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Ever since ive gained weight from pcos I have the worst acid reflux. I take Omeprazole for the pain but i know i shouldnt be on it for long its very dangerous but man that pain is no joke. What do some of you ladies do about it naturally?

A myPCOSteam Member

You can drink Alkaline powder (A Vogel make one in South Africa) not sure who would make it where you are.
Reduce caffeine, gluten, dairy and acidic foods in your diet.

Who Takes Inositol?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Burlington, VT

I've been reading about inositol, and the benefits for women with PCOS or severe Anxiety. I'm wondering who takes inositol and how it has worked or not worked for you. I'm also wondering if you did or didn't talk to your doctors about it first?

Has Anyone Used Black Cohosh To Help With Infertility, Regulate Periods, Mood Swings, Etc?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Tucson, AZ

I was doing some research into natural versions of Clomid and came across how effective Black Cohosh has been for women with PCOS in not only helping achieve pregnancy but also regulating cycles, minimizing PCOS symptoms (such as absent periods, heavy bleeding while on period, and mood swings) and was wondering if anyone has had any experience with this or could recommend an alternative.

Can Anyone Offer A Non-birth Control Option To Help Treat My High Testosterone?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭
Tucson, AZ

So I had my annual labs done and no shocker, my testosterone is high (which I know is common for PCOS women). This is the highest it has ever been for me though. My OB/GYN wants me to start birth control to treat my endometriosis and my high testosterone but since we are trying to get pregnant (constantly hoping for a ttc miracle) I really want to avoid this. My testosterone was 63. Any ideas?

I had very high testosterone 7 months ago and my endocrinologist prescribed me Finasteride daily and I just did my labs a week ago and my levels were back to normal.

Does Anyone Have Any Alternatives/recommendations For Body Wash/soap That Doesn't Have Chemicals Which Can Affect Your Hormones?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

Hey everyone! I'm slowly but surely trying to replace the endocrine disruptors at my home. They're in some many everyday products that we use. I'm thinking about starting with soap/body wash. Does anyone have any recommendations/alternatives?
