I was prescribed Clomid while trying to conceive about 1 year ago, it unfortunately did not work for me. The two months that I took Clomid I had the worst mood swings and irritability I have ever experienced and I also "enjoyed" frequent hot flashes. I eventually tried Letrozole and I was able to conceive the first month I took it. I also didn't get the horrible side effects that I got while on Clomid. Please keep in mind that everyone is different and my experience may not be the same as yours. If you're looking to take it for infertility, I wish you the best of luck!

I was on 3 rounds of Clomid. The first cycle wasn't so bad. I just felt some poking in my ovaries and very bad bloating. By the 3rd cycle the poking was more consistent and I had some psycho moments where I would cry for no apparent reason. I did a little better on Letrozole (it didn't make me cry) I stopped trying to conceive because I thought my body was tired of the medications. Turns out I developed Diabetes during the year I was trying to conceive under the care of an Reproductive Endocrinologist. I was never monitored for diabetes and there might be some correlation between the medication and diabetes. I say this because I went back to a different doctor and she refused to start treatment unless I got a clearance letter. She said that the medication would affect my hormones and raise my glucose levels. So, I'm not saying don't try Clomid. Many people do well on it. But, please monitor for Diabetes. With PCOS we run the risk of being Diabetic.

I took a round of Clomid and it did not work. I had a procedure done that I cannot remember the name of...but my gynecologist put dye into my fallopian tubes and x-rated them to look for any blockages. After them being flushed, there was a clear path for conception! I took my clomid and that was the month we conceived! We now have a healthy 12 yr old...our little miracle!
