Has Anyone Ever Got Their Period Back?

A myPCOSteam Member asked a question 💭

I used to have semi-regular periods every 4-6 weeks. Took Nexplanon, gained 60 pounds in a year, and didn't get but one period while I was on it. Now no period in over a year and a half since I had Nexplanon taken out. Diagnosed with PCOS when I went to the OBGYN trying to get my period back to have babies. No success yet, trying vitamins and supplements. Has anyone gotten their cycle back after weight loss or procedures or taking supplements? I know there are success stories with having babies… read more

I have had mine become semi regular after weight loss, but I ended up gaining the weight back and lost the periods. Started losing weight again with my new medications and eating habits and had an actual period again. Hoping I get another in the next few weeks.

So I had very irregular periods when I was young and then I went on an allergen free diet and within about 45-60days was having regular periods and got pregnant within another 30days (unfortunately by accident and didn’t know I had pcos at the time). Wasn’t the right time for me. But sticking to a gluten, dairy, soy, corn, egg, and peanut free diet helps normalize my cycles tremendously. If I start eating those foods too often again…I get back off track. It’s important to try it for a minimum of 30days and then reintroduce foods one by one to see which ones you may be reacting to. However, most people I’ve recommended this to end up feeling so much better they don’t want to bring anything back in. Anyways just thought it might be worth sharing! Good luck to you!

Also last time I lost the weight I did get pregnant but it sadly ended in a miscarriage. That was without any medications also, just the weight loss.
