Asking For Possible Answers..

Since August I’ve been fighting nausea. Occasionally I battle with nausea off and on since last year. I’ve had plenty of tests done that my doctor can think of rn. She’s tested me for h pylori. I’ve had an ultrasound. The only thing I can think of is it is an effect from being on the ozempic injection. I’ve never battled nausea like how it’s been lately. For AUGUST I had to stop going to the gym, I couldn’t do more than 30 minutes without feeling nauseous. I’ve also had an increase in appetite… read more

Hi! I was on Ozempic to manage my IR PCOS for about 8 months and I experienced everything you're describing. The nausea was really difficult for me, and it became unmanageable in my case. If you already have a history of IBS or other gastrointestinal issues, GLP1's do tend to exacerbate these issues. I also tried mounjaro and had a similar reaction where I did not eat for a week because the nausea and dizziness I experienced incapacitated me.

That being said, seeing a gastroenterologist to eliminate any other possible causes would be great. If your doctor is not able to figure out the root cause of the nausea, this would be my next step. I get recurrent SIBO infections due to the dysbiosis in my gut microbiome (thanks again, IBS, lol). If you do have something like this, you can take a breath test in the office and receive antibiotics to treat it. Nausea and other gastrointestinal side effects can go away with treatment.

In the meantime, Emetrol is my go-to for nausea spells. It works in about 15-20 minutes and never gives me harmful side effects ( a rarity considering how sensitive I am to most medications). I would also recommend taking a pre and probiotic if you aren't already to ensure there is plenty of good bacteria in your gut.

I hope this helps and wishing you less nauseous days ahead, dear!

Ohh yeah I missed that about the Ozempic! I’ve never taken it but have heard that could contribute as well. And I didn’t think about that but that makes alot of sense @A myPCOSteam Member ! Cause I’m actually about to do another SIBO test as well lol. (I’ve already had it once in high school as well lol yayy ibs) wishing you both to have less nausea and better stomach days 🫶

I also get lots of dizzy spells, abdominal pain, nausea, cramping, etc. my symptom list is so long it can be hard to differentiate at times lol. But both of those tests have helped me more than any tests my other doctors have ordered! I hope you figure out what’s going on with you though and that you feel better soon! Sending healing vibes your way! 🫶

Okay so yes I’ve dealt with feeling very similar…for awhile now actually…but mine might be slightly different I guess? I deal with difficulty eating and lots of nausea. I had a colonoscopy/endoscopy about 3 weeks ago, shockingly everything was normal. They are still trying to determine what the main cause of my issues is but I HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend doing the DUTCH (hormone urine test from home) and Genova Diagnostics GI test…the GI test showed I have 10/10 severity dysbiosis and the DUTCH test shows I have low cortisol, low progesterone, low estrogen, etc…and it’s given my doctors the best roadmap so far to go forward! Both tests are from home and they’re a few hundred dollars but my most recent endocrinologist was absolutely ecstatic I was able to bring those results to the first appointment with her because it was better information than any blood tests I’ve done so far! Sorry for super long answer but they’re both very easy tests that give a lot of valuable information!
