What Do You Guys Use For Severe Period Cramps If You Can’t Take NSAIDs?
Hi all! I’m on day 3 of my period and the severe cramps are wreaking havoc on my body. I got my period for the first time in a year last month and the same thing happened.
I used to get bad period cramps but never like this. The pain is taking my breath away and making me so nauseous.
Unfortunately I cannot take NSAIDs because I’m allergic to them. What do you guys recommend to replace them and help the cramps? Any and all help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you so much, Kristin! This is all super helpful advice and I’m so appreciative for it. I’m going to add all of this into my routine!
Hmm that is a tricky one..I do use Tylenol at times since it’s one of the few non-nsaids but it’s not always the most effective especially if your cramps are severe..and I’m guessing you’ve prob tried that at this point.
Other things I might try:
-Vitamin E (shown to help ease menstrual pain in clinical studies),
-a good magnesium supplement (I like MagTech Magnesium),
-and/or possibly a Lavender supplement? (I like calm-aid capsules),
I find they help with menstrual tension at times pretty well.
-omega-3s can’t hurt either since they help with the inflammation without being considered a full blown NSAID
*So sorry you’re struggling though! Can only imagine how tough that is being allergic to nsaids! Hope you find something that works and gets you through feeling better! 🫶
